Robert was born in the Westfield Hospital on May 7, 1949 making his mom a mother on Mothers Day. and Bob never heard the end of it.
He grew up in Ripley, New York and was nothing more than an average guy. When the Beatles Came out he learned how to play guitar With his friends Dave Hawker and Merle Perkins. They formed a band and played at school dances. Later Bob joined the US Air Force and spent Four years serving his country. He was stationed in Lackland ...Sheppard, Cannon, and Mountain Home. all stateside.After the Air Force Bob came home and worked at Welch Foods for 17 Years. Then at Belknap Business Forms for 19 years.. during that time Bob played with a band called Buckshot Flatts and came close to going to Nashville for a recording contract with a producer named Johnny Dollar. After Buckshot broke up he played with a band called Interstate that base mainly out of Warren Pa. He had a good time playing music and meeting people.
After Belknaps closed he retired and spent alot of time doing things on the computer. (like this)
Bob was Married to a girl from school named Catherine Swabik. the Marriage didn\'t work out but did produce 2 wonderful children named Robert H. Gibbs III and Noreen Lynn Gibbs. Who had some wonderful grandchildren for me. The second marriage was something that was rushed into and didn\'t work out any better than thew first. Bob was single for about ten years before he met and married Janet Ann Howard, (Kopta) Bob adopted Janet\'s daughter Julia Ann Kopta and loved like his own. She later gave him two wonderful Grandchildren.
Matthew was the Apple of Grandpa\'s eye and he would do any thing for. as of now Bob is content to live with his wife and spend time with his grandchildren. He would like to go to England and visit his friend Steven Donnelson in Lincolnshire and go to Stratford on Avon.
