    They sure knew what they were doing. I recall many a happy time visiting Portmouth Naval Base during English summers. They had a lot of fasinating old ships on display but nothing as splended as this one.

    Definitely! You can see why the Phoenicians ruled the waves, can't you? They actually took the sails down during battles and relied on the high speed and high manoeverabity provided by the three levels of rowers. The metal tipped bow of the vessel enabled them to ram straight through any ship that got in their way.
