Description:	This beautiful woman is my paternal great-grandmother, Pauline Gaskins Young. Her parents were George GASKINS and Mahala TIPTON, who were both born into slavery in Fleming County, KY. Slavery was such a shameful evil that families are still scattered to this day, as a result of it. Case in point: my great-grandmother was one of about 11 children of my great-great-grandmother's. I only know of five or six with any certainty, and am just guessing about the others. I have identified and photographed the graves of my great-grandparents at Flemingsburg Cemetery in Flemingsburg, KY. Pauline's mother is also buried at the same cemetery, but a three-hour search did not reveal her final resting place, as I believe she may have been buried without a marker. My goal is to, one day, determine the location of Pauline's mother's grave and to erect a monument there. It may not be within the next 10 years, but I am determined to do it as my tribute.

She was a beautiful lady. I can see where your good looks come from and there is certainly a resemblance. You are very fortunate to have a picture of your great grandmother.

please look into charlie prides geneology maybe he is a missing relative--I see a resemblence in the eyes and the mouth--you see something in the cheekbones. It won't hurt to try. I am so sorry what happened to your ancestors. My grandmothers brother was shot when they were fleeing in poland. I always thought I could find what happened to his remains and give him a decent burial maybe someday I'll find out-- but thank God I believe in Jesus and I know He will ressurect him. katko
