Hey, Curtis! Did you take your trip to Lebanon yet? regards, RouX
Hmmm... might? It might be J1 too, thats Semitic, I don\\'t think K2 is. Just bought NG\\'s "Quest For The Phoenicians\\'. I think the money ran out before they got much tangible proof of anything. The Egyptians wouldn\\'t let them investigate the oldest shipwreck ever discovered. Phoenician! Egyptian national security was given as the reason! The DNA work seems to be re-uniting the Lebanon though, which is brilliant. Really envious of your trip. best regards, RouX
I thought you might think this is interesting.I was on www.genographic.com and it says k2 might be the original phoenician gene. They just updated it check out j1 also. C-ya
Hi, Thanks for the message. I am not sure what the full 12 are, I haven\\'t tried to check that yet... but I have the original 6. Only about 10% of Jews are CMH so you are more likely NOT to be Jewish if you are CMH. But you ARE descended from Aaron. As I said, CMH came before Judaism. You also have to remember Judaism a religion not a genetic type (you can marry into it, or convert to it). The Israelites came before Judaism. My Phoenician link comes via North Africa and the Berbers. The Phoenicians were descended from Canaanites and Shemites (Semites) which is where the Semitic gene comes from. They lived in what is now the Lebanon. J1 migrated out in many directions. Crazy talk! But fun! RouX
Guessing here... but I would think if the numbers are lower they \\'pre-date\\' higher ones, or were not exposed to the same environmental/social forces. So if we are talking about a migration split, maybe your line stayed home cos they wanted to watch their team in the play offs? ;-) Do you have any near matches at ybase.org and y-search.org? Could give you some hints where your roots are. regards, RouX
Hi Curtis! Yep, I\\'m CMH, arent you? ;-) It predates Judaism. I have a couple of Arab markers too, but it looks like I\\'m Phoenician cos of the addition of YCA11a=22 and YCA11b=22! Which I\\'m really interested to find out. Nancy Kiser of the Phillips DNA Project spend a lot of time milling over my results and decided "You\\'re an exotic enigma, for a Brit!" My lineage looks almost like a lost tribe scenario. Some Phoenician traders must have settled in the UK a couple of thousand years ago and the line hasn\\'t mutated much since then. Yep, sure is fascinating, this molecular genetics thing. best regards, RouX
So Curtis, you gonna show us some of Irvines best or what, grin and a smile...Take care and have fun...it\\'s what lifes about, and sometimes "what\\'s for dinner"... wm
Hi Curtis, thanks for being a Genebase friend and for joining my brand new group. Like you I have only joined recently. I have only added a bit of my tree here so far. Most of my tree is up at Ancestry.co.uk. I am adding more stuff here since getting my 51 markers done by Genbase. The other night after getting a very nice picture comment from William I added lots more photos. Looking forward to getting to know you better. best regards, RouX
Hey Curtis, Thank you for extending your friendship here. If you ever come through the Magic City look me up, or drop a line. We can have some coffee with some pie or so. Hope you and family have the best New Year ever ! Sincerely... wm
